As the nation confronts a series of both new and long-standing challenges, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) stands at the forefront of delivering independent, non-partisan analysis to the U.S. Congress to make the federal government more accountable, efficient and effective. Learn what GAO is doing to address challenges associated with the federal government’s long-term fiscal health, cybersecurity concerns, and policy questions on emerging science and technology trends in areas like defense, the 2020 Census, and health care.
