Taught by Mallory Nobles, Heinz PhD Candidate

This session is offered as preparation for the MPM required course Optimization and Risk Modeling but open to all Heinz students. (Students required to take Management Science are welcome to attend but may prefer the session in January as it has more time for advanced techniques)

The first section (9 – 10:45 a.m.) will cover basic skills including working with worksheets, entering data into cells, editing data, creating simple formulas, and basic graphing.

The second section (11 – 1 p.m. ) assumes basic competency with Excel and will overview advanced techniques: complex formulas, relative and absolute cell referencing, functions, sorting and filtering data, goal seek and data tables, advanced graphing,
if statements, and pivot tables.
