Kevin Beasley’s work in sculpture, installation, sound, and video uses found objects, such as clothing, studio debris, and music samples, to excavate personal and cultural meaning through references to current events, social movements, and economic realities. He has had solo exhibitions at the Hammer Museum and The Studio Museum in Harlem and has been included in many group shows including the Whitney Biennial and Greater New York at MoMA PS1.
