Join Angélica Ocampo, CEO and President of the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh (WAC), as she discusses the work being done by WAC and other community stakeholders in bringing international├óÔé¼ÔÇ╣ issues to the Pittsburgh community. In her talk, Ms. Ocampo will touch on topics including: diversity promotion in Pittsburgh; the migrant and refugee population in Pittsburgh; women in leadership; and WAC's Global Leadership Program in the Pittsburgh schools. Ms. Ocampo will also describe her path to WAC and what it's like working in the field of international development.

World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh

Ang├â┬®lica Ocampo joined the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh in November 2015 as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to coming to the Council, Ocampo served as Executive Director of Worldfund, a New York-based organization that supports teacher development in Mexico and Brazil. Born and raised in Argentina, Ocampo earned a B.A. in Political Science from Universidad Cat├â┬│lica Argentina and a Master├óÔé¼Ôäós Degree in Public Affairs from Columbia University. She has received scholarships from the Fulbright Foundation and from the University of California. During her distinguished career in the private sector, Ocampo maintained her commitment to public policy, social issues, and the non-profit sector. She was a senior communications executive with extensive experience designing strategy and leading regional communications teams for multi-national corporations in Latin America. Ocampo has held senior positions, including Head of Public Affairs at HSBC Argentina; she co-founded Grupo Sophia, an Argentine think tank focused on public policy; and served as Vice President of Fundaci├â┬│n Impulsar, the Argentine branch of Youth Business International. She has lived and worked in Argentina, Colombia, and the United States.
