Although we may have fallen into a familiar routine now that we’re all staying inside and social distancing, we still mourn the days when we could go eat dinner with friends or watch a highly anticipated film at a movie theater. We are more dependent now than ever on streaming services like Netflix and Hulu to entertain ourselves and enjoy original content from the comfort of our own homes. But what does this mean for movie theaters and studios? Will theaters survive the pandemic, and if so, will their service models and array of movie offerings change? Alternatively, will we see services like Netflix increasingly fund big budget operations?
