Karl Maschino brings extensive experience in public policy and management, having served as the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer and Co-Chief Risk Officer at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) from 2014 to 2024. In this role, he led operations for an agency with over 3,500 staff, overseeing critical areas such as finance, risk management, IT, human capital, and security. With a background in the U.S. Department of Justice and experience in sustainable economic development, Mr. Maschino offers a unique perspective on navigating uncertainty in the policy ecosystem. Mr. Maschino is a graduate of the Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon University (MPM), the McIntire School at the University of Virginia (M.S. Management of Technology), and Indiana University, Bloomington (B.A. East Asian Studies).

Dr. Kliewer specializes in military service and American politics, examining how candidates leverage military backgrounds in campaigns and elections. With experience working in Congress—particularly in the minority—she brings insight into building bipartisan connections and finding creative avenues for impact. Her expertise in media and messaging, shaped by her time in Congress and campaign research, adds depth to discussions on political strategy and public perception.

Ashley brings over 14 years of international development experience across public, non-profit, and private sectors in the U.S., Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, and North Africa. She has led international teams for U.S. Government-funded programs, overseeing legal and business operations for both NGOs and for-profit companies in Africa. Previously, Ashley was a Project Director at RTI International, leading USAID-funded economic growth programs in Kenya and Somalia. She also served as Country Director for IREX Tunisia, focusing on youth leadership and employability programs. Ashley has managed over $450M in U.S. Government-funded programs, led 6 project start-ups, and built sustainable partnerships for expansion. With a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, Ashley specializes in inclusive project management, capacity building, partnership development, and strategic operations.
